Every year our quilt guild gives us each a fat quarter, we are to make a secret project from it and have it ready for our July quilt show.  This is my project--the blue snowman fabric boarder was the challenge fabric.  Fun project but putzy!

A couple weeks agoI went on a quilt retreat---this is one of the quilts I put together, the Dresden blocks were made in 2002 and after much searching I finally found a boarder fabric that I thought worked with the blocks.  This also was my first attempt at feather stitches in the quilting.

This is a back pack i made for my 11 year old granddaughter Megan, she discribed a back pack she wanted and I had the exact pattern that she discribed.  It called for pre-quilted fabric which I didn't have so I just quilted my own.  Megan is into jungle stuff and loves animals so this fabric was perfect.  Such a fun project--pb

Convergence Under the Sea

Some of us members from our guild attended Ricky Tim's semenar in Eau Clarie Wisconsin, Ricky showed his Convergence pattern.  This year Jan 2012 our guild had a group project with doing his convergence pattern.  I had no idea what it would look like after picking my fabrics out, BUT, this is what i got, it looked like an under water pattern to me thus I added the fish and treasure box.  It measers 35 X 35, The fish are fussy cuts and heat and bonded and then stitched around.I guess it would be a wall hanging, not to much my style of quilting but it was fun to learn this method, and it added it to my experience bucket list!

Sophisticated Ladies

This is my latest quilt, the ladies are on a panel, I thought they were so beautiful and the quilting on the clothing was so much fun all done free motion, it was like doodling on fabric.  the quilt is 58 X 73.  I bought the panel at a thrift store for $1.00 and was very excited about the planing of the rest of the quilt.  What a fun project. pb

My New Years Quilt finished 1-1-2012

This pattern is from the Nickel Quilts book by Pat Speth, it's the 4th quilt I've made from this book.  I cut all my scraps into 2 1/2 or 3 or 4 1/4 and last of all 5 inch blocks when i clean up my cutting table.  I end up with lots of 5 inch blocks which turn into scrappy Nickel quilts.  They are so much fun and always turn out so nice.

This quilt sis 92 X 108 1/2 it's called Sunny Lanes.  It looks so complicated but it's all made of 4 patches and 1/2 square triangles.
