Halloween Art Quilt

This was a guild project taught by Carol Streif, it was very interesting to see how each of our guild members made their projects with all the same materials, each looked so different--9-16-2013

Megan's First big quilt--Megan our granddaugher is 13, she made a doll quilt a couple years ago but she wanted to make a big quilt this time, well it's big alright 78 X 90, it's a 1600's quilt made with 2 1/2 inch strips, she made the sun flowers and also did all the quilting except for the circles in the flowers she asked me to do that for a "grandma's touch". She is so very proud of this quit and rightfully so as it turned out so nice. She took it home today and only has the binding to sew on the back side, signed sealed and delivered. Way to go Megan.

Scrappy Rows--our guild made this a summer project, it took some creative thinking to make each quilting row different

This is called "French Dresdin Garden" as it is Dresdin blue and looks like a flower garden to me.  I had made the 16 patch blocks last winter and when I went to quilt retreat i put it together.  So it was finished on April 18th, 2013.  It's 71 x 82 and it's my own design.
