a little bit of This and That

Hi---it's time to load the latest quilt--so fun---Olivia (my Irish E-Pal) sent me oriental fabric for Christmas last year so I found this pattern that was just perfect---then we had a class on sewing machine calography at our guild meeting so I tried it out on this quilt, with practice I will get better but am pretty happy with the way it came out. The Japanese symbol means "Spring". This is not a real big quilt 60 X70 which is a small one in my book but I'm getting old so my quilts may start getting smaller??????

Summer has been so hot as of today we have had 26 days above 90 degrees, last year we had 6, I'm so lucky because my sewing room is in my basement and with the air conditioner on the cool air sinks to the basement and I'm in 7th quilters heaven. Just loaded a whole cloth quilt into my frame and started it today, this one will take me quite a while as it has a lot of stitches to be had. Something to do while watching and listening to TV. Hope your summer is going great and all of you are quilting up a storm. pb
New baskets made yesterday.
I decided that i needed to use up all my 3/4 inch fabric strips and the last of the clothes line rope in the tote box --soooo--i got two very big baskets. The rest of the strips will be crocheted into a rug then that tote box is cleaned out--feels good to get that completed.
Origami Bag & simple pin cushion
At Quilt camp we made these cute Origami Bags, if you put the pockets on the inside you get one like the touquoise bag, the patten calls for the pockets on the outside. the cosmetic bag pattern can be found on Moda site and look for Sweek Treat Bag.
