SO MANY 9 PATCHES
I cut all my scraps up into various sizes of blocks and i sewed a bunch of them into 9 patches --222 of them to be exact. So what to do with them? I made this 9 patch quilt and only used about 80 of them but I'm happy with this quilt and will decide what to do with the rest of them.
Irish Memories
While in Ireland in 2012 at the International Quilt Festival i purchase a kit for the center block then i design the rest of the quilt. Each block has an Irish Theme, the back has the Irish flag for my label. I added the little lamb and flower buttons on the center block, there is some hand embroidery in the heart block. What a wonderful time the Irish people showed us and Olivia my Irish friend showed me more hospitality and more of Ireland while i stayed with her the extra 6 days on my trip. Hopefully will go for another visit in 2015.

ZENTANGLE'S WALL HANGING
I did a Zentangle quilt with hand drawn blocks earlier this year, my guild asked me to teach a class in it so I decided i would do a pieced zentangle wall hanging a change from the drawing but still having the shapes effect. It's 15 1/2 by 16 inches big and i added some Sashiko stitching and red beads to dress it up.
BLOCK OF THE MONTH QUILT
Starting January 1, 2013 I started this quilt each month we received a pattern with 2 blocks of different sizes, then in December 2013 we received the filler block pattern and the assembly instructions. I added the row of flying geese and also the flying geese boarder because i wanted it to be bigger. The quilting was fun because i changed the quilt designs in may of the blocks. Check out the Country Threads (Iowa) web site to get in on the free block of the month quilt for 2014.
